Better For Grown Ups Organic Giveaway

I am so excited that I found Better For Grown Ups! Remember  Tom Cruise jumping  on Oprah's couch ? Well that was me when I found Better For Grown Ups Organic Cotton Rounds.  When you live a green life you are constantly searching for products that are environmentally friendly and are Enjoyable to use. I did contact Better for Grown Ups to share my excitement about their Organic Cosmetic Rounds. I asked if I could do a review and giveaway and they were happy to oblige.

I waited an anticipation for the organic cosmetic rounds to arrive. As I have been using organic cotton rounds the disposable ones, and have experienced some unpleasant irritations.
Being green I  do not care to contribute to any land fill. I also do not like the fact that little strands of cotton would stick to my face when removing  make up etc. Little strands of cotton on my eyelashes after removing eye makeup that would get in my eye!  This was a big ordeal for me nightly. I knew there had to be a better way.

I then decided to make my own cosmetic rounds out of organic bamboo velour fabric. O.k. like I have time to do that, Ha... I gave it a go as I'm an experienced seamstress. Honestly it turned into a time consuming ordeal. I do run a business out of my home, take care of children, a husband and play the handyman too. I finished 3 homemade cosmetic rounds, well not really round. They were not  firm enough to wipe my make up remover off steadily and 3 was just not going to get me thru the week.

When I found Better for GrownUps I was so ecstatic that they made several reusable organic cotton items. Other items include reusable  tissues and family wipes(these will be offered in the future for purchase at their site). The cool thing is they come in a reloadable dispensing box! After you use them you put them in an organic bag for washing. This bag is included when you purchase the fully loaded option. After washing and drying you reload your dispensing box.
Who is behind  Better for GrownUps? Better for GrownUps was created by a stay-at-home-Dad!.That in my opinion is awesome. Leah is the wife of this stay-at-home-Dad Zac, she is founder of  Better For Babies http://www.betterforbabies.com/
Better for Babies carries everything organic you need for diapering baby as well as other natural items.

My Better For GrownUps package arrived! I am very pleased to announce I love them...I'm very impressed with several facts. The reloadable box is very sturdy. The organic reusable cotton rounds dispense easily. Ohh the rounds have one side of color, such as orange , or blue with the other side being off white. Here is the description on their site "Each face round is two layers of organic, fair trade cotton velour which means it is super soft." They are truly soft.. I have used them nightly with my organic make up remover with pure pleasure. No more strands of cotton in my eye! I use them when applying my toner, they absorb my toner nicely, I have also used them as a cool eye compress. I applied my eye solution to 2 organic cotton rounds, then placed them in the freezer for several minutes. I placed them over my eyes for rejuvenation benefits. Fantastic!! The organic cotton rounds can also be used with my foaming face wash for gentle exfoliation! My 7 year old loves them too. She scraped her knee over the weekend and I cleansed her boo boo with one of the organic cotton rounds. She commented on how soft the round felt. We are going to continue to use our Better For GrownUps organic reusable rounds for several other tasks. Really when you think outside of the box you can come up with many ways to use them. We are going to use them to buff our nails after applying our nail strengthener. Can't wait!

I'm going to be purchasing several boxes of the Organic reusable reloadable cotton rounds  to give as gifts. I think adding a bottle of  Joyful Girl Eye make up remover, Toner, Eye Solution compress and a bottle of our Nail strengthener will make a fantastic GREEN GIFT!

The price is right too! One reloadable box filled with 30 organic cotton rounds and an organic bag for washing them is 24.50 The bag for washing is really nifty too. Its a nice size , you can add other delicate items to the bag for when washing your rounds.. Lots of uses for this product.

Better For GrownUps has generously offered to give one of my followers a
Reloadable dispensing box containing 30 rounds and a little bag in which to wash them.

Giveaway at Leslie Loves Veggies

Leslie is hosting a Joyful Girl Giveaway so you should run over there and enter! http://leslielovesveggies.blogspot.com/2009/11/joyful-girl-naturals-25-gift.html

Look At Me Now I'm 47

Argh, just celebrated my 47th birthday! Not sure how I feel about it. Like all birthdays I ponder what I have accomplished, what I need to accomplish, what I didn't accomplish. I did give birth to 5 amazing kids. That I would say is my biggest accomplishment.Matthew  28 (soon to be 29) Michael 26 Elizabeth 24 Eli 22 and my Kylie who is 7. I have 2 wonderful grandchildren Kaden 5 and Madison 22 mos.

I ponder where the time went, then I panic that I don't know how much time I have left. Can I make a difference in this world, touch a soul, change a life, in the time I have.I wake up everyday asking the universe "What can I do to make a difference in this world today?"  I pray to God every night to lead me to those I can comfort, love and bring peace to.  Oh so complex.

When creating Joyful Girl I did so out of the strong desire to touch women's lives, to lend a hand in healing naturally, to share my story of  a childhood of abusive and a 16 year marriage contributing the same. To show women that I crawled thru that dark tunnel of emotionally pain, fear, and insecurity to create a new life. To teach them they too can do the same. I pray each night that I have touched a soul, that I have helped a woman to change her life of abuse into a life of Joy. Doing so thru natural means.

Now today I have a new life a husband who loves me and treats me with respect. A 7 year old daughter who tells me to put my photo up here to show woman that they too can have skin like mine. She said" Mommy I can't find that many wrinkles on your face, cuz you use Joyful Girl products" I adore her, she is my biggest fan! She gives Joyful Girl products to all her friends as gifts, I of course use to say "Kylie no that isn't appropriate, I don't want their parents to think I'm pushing products" She says"Mommy your Joyful Girl products are the best, they are the best gift I want to give".  Yes really she says that!!! Now I let her package up whatever she would like to give as her presents. She knows what heals, what comforts, what soothes and she customizes each gift with the products she thinks the recipient needs. Then includes a business card. ( I do sneek them out sometimes depending on who its going to )  Anywhooo My life is good, I still ache to make a difference, I still ponder sometimes to obsession if I'm completing my life's purpose.

Thought I would share, if  I make you  ponder about how you can make a difference in life then its all good!
BTW I received some cool green brithday gifts from the owner of Green Goods  Denise Olsen.

check out what she has online.

Much peace
just washed 47 year old skin!

Yippeee I found a safe Laundry Soap !

I was reading prissygreens blog today she is doing a giveaway http://www.prissygreen.com/category/giveaway/

This is for a laundry soap made by Vaska and its called Herbatergent. Vaska was started by a fashion designer Julia Fry. Vaska's Herbatergent uses real herbs! I read their laundry soap keeps clothing brighter,& softer too! No chemical residues left to create skin irritation or fabric damage.

Yippeee. I'm so excited to try this. I make our laundry soap because I have scent and skin sensitivities as well as being environmentally conscience. I would love to have THIS laundry soap delivered to my door than grate bars of castile soap!

Looks like you can find Vaska's Herbatergent at drugstore.com or Amazon. Here is a link to Vaska Products http://www.vaskaproducts.com/household.html so you can check it out.

The ingredients list: Plant based surfactants, vegetable conditioner, water-soluble degreasing agent, lavender extract (leaves no scent) and filtered water.

I'm super excited to get a jug of Herbatergent because my tub of laundry soap is getting low, and I'm not in the mood to make any! I have a great feeling that this maybe the one laundry soap that rescues me from that task! If Prissygreen is likin this, I know it has to be good! For me to post something on my blog, you know I'm excited about Herbatergent!

Please go over to PrissyGreens site and enter the giveaway and browse thru her blog. Karissa is a great resource for persons wanted to go green.

Twitter Party

Well, I was invited to participate in a twitter party last night. It was being hosted by prissygreen. Karissa of prissygreen blog had contacted me and another organic beauty business owner. The topic of the party was Sibu beauty. Beauty from the inside out. I was so excited. I read up on all of Sibu's products, learned about tweet chat and tweet grid and was ready to go.

Even though I'm on vacation right now in CA, and getting ready to attend my stepdaughter's wedding I put time aside to contribute to this twitter party.

I got all ready with my laptop, tea, and notes and was ready to go! I logged into the tweet chat room 10 minutes prior to the party starting and sat in anticipation of chatting with women about natural beauty. Well, the party started and as I began to tweet I realized my tweets were not showing up in the chat room. Karrissa and the other panelist tweets were not showing up either. I began to investigate why, and 4o minutes into the party I figured it out. You have to make sure that in your profile on twitter you do not have your tweets protected.  I sent a direct message to prissygreen letting her know, but it was too late. She was tweeting out questions for prizes and was keeping the party rolling.

I tweeted several times as I had so much I wanted to share about the subject. It was very amusing as I only had about 20 minutes to share. I'm sure persons in the chat room might have thought I was a bit looney as the party was really winding down and I was tweeting away about beauty from the inside out.

Not all was lost though, I gained 90 followers on twitter, I learned that I can perform and think constructively under pressure. As I figured out on my own how to fix the problem and did not panic. I gave myself a pat on the back when it was all over and had a whole bar of organic chocolate as my tweet. (little twitter humor)

Im going to plan a twitter party in the near future for all my Joyful Girls. I think it will be fun to chat with everyone, give away organic product and other fun stuff.

Let me know if your interested by leaving a comment here.

In the meantime check out prissygreens blog at http://www.prissygreen.com  Karissa does a great job review eco friendly green products. Her blog is a great way to learn about being green and participate in some great giveaways.

Please check out Sibubeauty.com for these amazing seabuckhorn  cellular support soft gels. Every woman should be taking these!

Peace,
Shelly
